About

About Muskoka Christmas Lights

A direct booking line for one vetted, insured holiday lighting installer working across Huntsville, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Muskoka Lakes and Lake of Bays.

Muskoka Christmas Lights is a booking line. It is not a lighting company and does not claim to be one. It exists so that a Muskoka homeowner, cottage owner, condo board or business that wants holiday lights up, or permanent lighting fitted, gets to one vetted, insured local installer quickly, including when the owner is two hours away in the city.

The work is done by a holiday lighting installer who carries liability insurance and WSIB coverage, works to Ontario's fall protection rules, uses certified outdoor-rated LED on GFCI-protected outlets, quotes in writing, and is accountable for the job. Your details are not sold to a list and you are not put into an auction.

The site stays in its lane: seasonal Christmas light installation, permanent soffit lighting, tree and landscape lighting, takedown and storage, and cottage holiday lighting. It does not do electrical wiring, new outlets, or dock and boathouse electrical, which are for a licensed electrical contractor, and it does not use laser projectors or bright floods aimed over the water.

The local facts on the site were checked against the sources they cite: Environment Canada's climate normals for the Muskoka Airport station, the Township of Muskoka Lakes' dark sky rules, the Township of Lake of Bays' Dark Sky By-law, the Town of Huntsville's outdoor lighting page, the Town of Bracebridge's Festival of Lights page, the Ontario Energy Board's prices, Lakeland Power's licence and the Town of Gravenhurst's utilities page, and the Electrical Safety Authority's and Health Canada's holiday lighting guidance. Each township is the authority on its own by-law, and the site says so rather than guessing.

Some jobs are declined: roofs that cannot be worked safely, properties that cannot be reached safely during freeze-up, trees in power lines, and lighting that would not meet the local by-law.

How this works

When you call 249-475-1601 or send the form, your details go directly to the holiday lighting installer covering Muskoka, not to a list and not to a call centre. Calls go to voicemail when the crew is on a roof or on the road, which from late October to December is most of the day, and the message and your number reach them at once by text and email. Expect a call back the same day or the next working day. The next step is usually a set of photos of each side of the house or cottage, the roof, the outdoor outlets and the trees, plus how the property is reached in winter; the written quote follows, naming each run, the lights, the timer settings, the install window and the takedown plan.

What we won't do

  • Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
  • Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
  • Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.

Call 249-475-1601 or send the form and we will get back to you within one business day.

By submitting this form, you agree to be contacted by phone, text, or email about your request. You can opt out at any time. Your details go only to the one local holiday lighting installer who handles your job — nobody else.
